Why This Matters
The Victorian Government has proposed rezonings across Boroondara that allow high-rise towers of up to 16 storeys in areas traditionally made up of 2–3 storey buildings. This generic, one-size-fits-all planning approach ignores community input, heritage protections, and the unique character of our neighbourhoods.
These rezonings will not deliver genuine affordable housing but will create overcrowding, traffic congestion, and loss of amenity. Every resident of Boroondara will be impacted — whether through loss of light, increased density, or reduced property values.
